Grannie's Cat Head Biscuits

Cat head biscuits

3 tablespoons buttermilk powder (optional but so good)
4 cups flour
1 cup lard ( maybe 1.5 cups) ( I use Crisco not lard)
1 2 cup sour milk or butter milk can use milk soured with vinegar or lemon juice
7 tsp baking powder
1 teasp baking soda (optional)
2 tablsp. Salt

1 egg beaten in some cream to wash the tops

mix lard into dry ingredients until it looks like cornmeal (I use my hands to do this). Make 4 pockets in the flour mixture pour in one cup of the milk and mix with a spoon if you need more liquid add, because weather and also the types of flour vary you want the dough to stick together barely. Put in fridge for an hour.

Heat over to 375 roll and cut big cat head biscuits put close together on pan and wash with egg mixture.

Bake about 25 mins
